If you're looking for a savory way to use that bag of edamame puffs you bought, I cannot recommend this enough. It's the best cheesy vegan snack I've ever eaten (and I'm a connoisseur of vegan cheesy snacks)!
In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the coconut oil. Should take between 45 - 60 seconds.
Add in the maple syrup, salt, lactic acid, onion powder and garlic powder. Mix together really well so that the spices are evenly dispersed.
Add the nutritional yeast and mix really well.
Mix in the edamame puffs until well-coated. It's important to make sure every edamame puff is coated (should be a tiny bit shiny because of the coconut oil), because that's how the flavor is going to stick to them.
Dump onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Spread out and lightly push down with the back of a spatula. This will get the puffs to stick together (like clusters) which will make them easier to eat.
Put baking sheet in the fridge for 10 minutes or so until they have set.
You can break off little clusters and eat them as a nice cheesy snack, on top of salads or anything else you think of!
