Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 8, 2026

Protein Deficient Vegan (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by VeGAINS Fitness & Nutrition LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit proteindeficientvegan.com (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

If you have any questions, contact us through our contact page.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Email subscriptions and free e-books. When you subscribe to our newsletter or request a free e-book (such as the Vegan High Protein Survival Guide or the Veganuary High Protein Guide), we collect your email address and, optionally, your first name. We use this to deliver the e-book and send you recipe and blog updates.
  • Purchases. When you buy a product from our shop (such as meal plans or merchandise), we collect your name, email address, billing details, and — for physical products — your shipping address. Payments are processed by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account information. If you create an account on our shop, we store your name, email address, and order history.
  • Comments and recipe ratings. When you leave a comment or rate a recipe, we collect the name and email you provide, the content of your comment, and your IP address (used for spam detection). Your name and comment are displayed publicly; your email is not.
  • Contact form. When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can respond.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site — pages visited, time on page, approximate geographic region, device and browser type. This relies on cookies and similar identifiers. IP addresses are processed but not made available to us in reports.
  • Advertising data. Our advertising partner collects data to serve and measure ads (see “Advertising” below).
  • Grow. The Site uses Grow (grow.me), a tool that lets you bookmark recipes, subscribe by email, and manage content preferences. Grow may set cookies and collect usage data as described in Grow’s privacy policy.
  • Server logs and security. Our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically log IP addresses, browser types, and requested pages for security, debugging, and performance purposes.
  • Cookies. See “Cookies and Tracking Technologies” below.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate the Site and deliver its content, including recipes and the protein database
  • Fulfill orders, process payments, and provide customer support
  • Send newsletters and e-books you’ve requested (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Display and moderate comments and recipe ratings
  • Measure and improve Site performance and content
  • Display advertising that funds the free content on this Site
  • Detect spam, abuse, and security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations

Advertising

This Site displays ads through Journey by Mediavine. Journey and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to deliver, personalize (where you have consented), and measure advertising.

Where required by law, you can manage your advertising consent choices through the consent banner’s “Change Privacy Settings” option (or similar). You can also manage advertising cookies by blocking them in your browser.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for core features such as the shopping cart, checkout, and saving your consent choices.
  • Preference cookies — remember choices you make, such as consent settings.
  • Statistics cookies — Google Analytics, used to measure traffic and usage.
  • Marketing cookies — set by our advertising partners (Journey by Mediavine and its vendors) and Grow to deliver and measure ads and personalize content.

Where required by law, non-essential cookies are set only after you consent. Where the consent banner offers a “Change Privacy Settings” (or similar) option, you can use it to review or change your choices. You can also clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect Site features such as the cart and checkout.

Affiliate Links

Some links on this Site are affiliate links, including Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links don’t change the price you pay. The merchant you purchase from will process your data under its own privacy policy.

Email Marketing

Our email lists are managed through MailerLite. We send recipe updates, blog posts, and occasional product announcements. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate. We do not sell or rent our email list. MailerLite may track email opens and link clicks to help us understand what content subscribers enjoy.

Embedded Content

Posts on this Site may include embedded content (for example, YouTube videos, Instagram posts, or Pinterest pins). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website directly — those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content, under their own privacy policies.

How Long We Keep Information

  • Comments and ratings are kept indefinitely so threads and recipe ratings remain intact. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Order records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, and warranty purposes.
  • Email subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe; unsubscribed contacts are suppressed or deleted per our email provider’s practices.
  • Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics’ configured retention period.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale”/”sharing” of personal information
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for cookies, use the consent banner’s privacy settings where offered, or your browser settings; for email, use the unsubscribe link)
  • Complain to your local data protection authority (for EU/UK visitors)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

For visitors in the EU/UK: We process your data on the legal bases of consent (cookies, marketing), contract (purchases, delivering requested content), and legitimate interests (security, basic site operation). This Site is operated from the United States, and your data is processed in the United States.

Children’s Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption, reputable hosting with security monitoring, and limited access to personal data. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
